Crowdsourced Location Network
AirBolt's crowdsourced location network helps you locate a lost AirBolt by using the location of nearby phones running the AirBolt app.
For example, if you lose your luggage with an AirBolt attached or securing it, another phone running the AirBolt app may detect your AirBolt when it comes within Bluetooth range. The nearby phone can then securely and anonymously report the detected AirBolt's location to the AirBolt network.
The AirBolt is identified within our system and its latest reported location is made available to you in the AirBolt app.
Crowdsourced location can be particularly useful in busy areas such as airports, where there may be more AirBolt users nearby.
No SIM card or ongoing connectivity subscription is required for crowdsourced location.
If Your AirBolt Is Lost
If you lose your AirBolt or the item it is attached to:
Open the relevant AirBolt in the app.
Go to the Find tab.
Select Mark as Lost.
If your AirBolt is subsequently detected by the AirBolt network, its latest reported location will appear in the Find tab and we'll notify you by email.
Please note: Crowdsourced location relies on another compatible device running the AirBolt app coming within Bluetooth range of your AirBolt. Location updates are therefore dependent on nearby network participation and are not real-time GPS tracking.
